Impact

Patches

The issue was patched in all Sentry JavaScript SDKs starting from the 8.33.0 version. Also, the fix was backported to SDK v7 in 7.119.1.

The vulnerability stems from the wrap() function's handling of sentry_wrapped properties. The patch adds a type check to ensure it only returns functions, indicating the previous version didn't validate the property type. This made it a prototype pollution gadget - if attackers polluted the prototype chain to set sentry_wrapped to malicious values, the SDK would propagate these values.
